Summer vacation programme for socially disadvantaged children successfully completed in Marina Kaštela

21.09.2019

For the seventh consecutive year, Marina Kaštela has organized a free summer vacation programme for socially disadvantaged children.

Within the scope of this project, we have provided transport and accommodation in Kaštela for children and people with disabilities from various organizations from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. We have hosted beneficiaries of the Red Cross, Mala Škola Vareš, association for children with disabilities Vodopad ljubavi and numerous parishes dedicating to working with children from the most vulnerable parts of the society.

We have also welcomed the director and young actors from the Nova Scena Theatre from Novi Grad which, together with Kaštela Theatre, performed a play for Kaštela audience. The last group that we hosted were children from war-torn areas who were granted asylum in the Republic of Croatia. Together with the Kaštela Swimming Club, we also organized swimming lessons at our pool.

Since its launch in 2012 until today, a total of 13 groups, i.e. 240 beneficiaries and their caretakers participated in the programme.

We are delighted that, through this programme, we can provide underprivileged children with an opportunity to enjoy some much-needed sun and fun,  as well as to provide our support to a great number of organizations and individuals.
