BOOT TULLN 2013
BavAdria Yachting and Marina Kastela were present again with its own stand in Hall 4. Many of our regular customers who use our service many years have visited us at the boat show and we took the opportunity to chat and renew our friendship because they know that

Delicacies from Dalmatia such as glazed orange peel, glazed almonds, home made dried figs, Dalmatian wine, cheese and pickled anchovy filets in olive oil could not be missing at all.

A few words about the boat show
After first introductions at the boat show in Düsseldorf all product innovations and new products could have been seen at the boat show in Tulln again. This makes the Boot Tulln an unique and important trade fair for Central and specially Eastern Europe. The 42nd Edition of the Austrian Boot Show – Boot Tulln, Austria`s number 1 Event for boats, yachts, diving and the wide range of accessories closed the doors after 4 days with a great track record. THE GREAT BOOT DÜSSELDORF - 2012
As expected the great Boot Düsseldorf 2012 was a complete success. The stand of the Croatian National Tourist Board was highly frequented as expected. Mostly the visitors were interested in general information and promotional material about Croatia, followed by the ones who asked for charter arrangements, berth places in marinas and other nautical activities.
This year we were represented by our colleague Danijel Klaric working as an informant at the stand of the Croatian National Tourist Board. The fresh impressions indicate a great interest for Croatia in all its aspects, not only the nautical part. Highlights like camping, family vacations with their own boat in apartments and sports-adventure tourism like kayaking, canoeing and diving were also of great interest. We met a lot of friends, made new contacts, and above all we were able to welcome some of our old guests on the boat show.
The attendance this year was slightly lower than last year. The final number of 246 700 visitors and a total of 1656 exhibitors from 62 countries worldwide are the statistics.
Finally we should say that the biggest boat show Boot Dusseldorf 2012 has fully met the expectations of the international yacht and water sports industry.

SCHOOL SHIP "THE QUEEN OF THE SEA"
A HRK 35 million training ship for the education of students of maritime schools and colleges, the first such ship built in Croatia since the country gained its independence, has visited Marina Kastela.
The motor sailer, named "Queen of the Sea", is 35 metres long and 8.7 metres wide. There can be 28 students, four lecturers and a seven-member crew aboard.

BAVADRIA CUP 2011.
On Sunday, 05th November 2011, twelve teams sailed the 11.Bavadria the cup organized by the SC Marina Kastela in the Bay of Kastela.
The regatta had to be sailed in a configured baton bar area. A strong southeast wind up to 30 knots of wind strength made it all very easy. After about two hours sailing the first ship sailed through the finish line. Unfortunately two ships had to give up due to technical problems.
Like all years before a joint celebration was organized after the race in the main building with fish dishes and the best chapel music of Croatia, the chapel choir Cambi - Kastela Kambelovac .

WALLYPOWER HIGH SPEED LUXURY YACHT IN MARINA KAŠTELA

WORLD CLASS SUCCESS OF MARINE KAŠTELA TEAM
The ORC World International Championship was held on island of Cres from 18th to 25th of June under the authority of Croatia sailing Federation and overall authority of the Offshore racing Congress (ORC) and the International Sailing Federation (ISAF).
This regatta is the sole official offshore World Championship.
The total of 119 teams participated this year, which is the biggest turnout in the 40 year history of this regatta.
The teams were diveded into Class-A and Class-B and Marina Kastela team was in Class-A along with 55 other teams.
The Marina Kastela team won the most single races, but one early start set the team back into fifth place, which is good a resault for the young team. The gold medal was very close and we hope that our team will have more luck the next time around.

Mladost Marina Kaštela wins third place in Central European League
The mens volleyball team Mladost Marina Kastela won its first ever international medal. It won third place in the Central European League, making this one of the biggest successes for Croatian men's volleyball and for Kastela sports in history.
After being defeated by ACH Bled (Slovenia), our boys won the match for the third place against Posojilnica Aich/Dob (Austria), by a score of 3:2. After losing 4 games to Aich/Dob in the regular season and European Challange cup, Mladost Marina Kastela was finally able to get its revenge in the most important game of all.
ACH Bled Team for the fourth time became champion after beating the home team Hypo Tirol 3:0 in sets.
Marina Kastela and BavAdria are the main sponsors of Mladost Marina Kastela, and we are very happy to congratulate the players and the coaches for their great success. We wish them more trophies and ate rooting for them to win the first Croatian Championship ever.

Helsinki International Boat Show
This year's Helsinki International Boat Show, which ended on Sunday at the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre, indicated clearly that there's plenty of demand for boats and boating supplies on the Scandinavian market as almost 77,000 visitors came to the fair.
The Helsinki International Boat Show further strengthened its status as the major event for boating and other aquatic past times. Some exhibitors even think that the fair exceeded their expectations:
"Visitor's high regard for quality in boat manufacturing was clearly evident. We could also notice that the visitors' standard was correspondingly high at this year's Boat Show," says the Managing Director of Finngulf Yachts.
The Exhibitors were quite satisfied with the Boat Show and the commercial success of the fair encouraged them to start planning for next year. Even before this year's event ended, around 50 exhibitors signed up for the next Helsinki International Boat Show, which is to be held in February 2011,.
Workshop in Helsinki
On Thursday 18.02. a workshop was held at the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre fair, organised by the Croatian economy chamber, and visited by a several number of reporters, the managing director of the Croatian tourist board in Stockholm-Sweden, and the Croatian consul in Helsinki. Tha Croatian prepaid TV station "Navigare" visited the stand for an interview with mr. Zeljko Jerat, president of the charter company association of Croatia.

Now that the sailing season 2009 has come to an end, Bavadria is getting prepared to transfer all of its yachts to the Marina Kastela dry dock. There the yachts will spend the entire winter and our service team will carry out any necessary repair and maintenance works, thanks to the connection between BavAdria and Marina Kastela, as they are part of one family business.
While the yacht is still hanging on the travel lift, the service team will clean the underwater hull with high pressure water-jet, remove the mast and polish the rest of the hull. Afterwards, the interior of the boat will be dismantled and cleaned, while all the old ropes will be replaced. Of course, a full service of the engine parts, electrical winches, batteries and rechargers will also have to be carried out.

Bavadria CUP 2009
Dear Sailing Friends,
Last weekend the 10 annual BavaAdria regatta took place in the Bay of Kastela. Among the 14 crews, all sailing in equal Bavaria 46 types, there were a number of renowned skippers, including Mate Arapov, Karlo Kuret, Marin Misura and Vasilj Zbogar. Due to a strong NE wind, the two Saturday races were canceled, and only one round took place on Sunday during 4-8 kts wind speed.
At the begining of the regatta, Sailing Club "Mornar" with Frane Arapov as the skipper, took the lead. Arapov's crew was exchanging the lead with "Marina Kastela" and "Coast Guard" crew throughout the race.
After two hours of sailing, the boat that arrived at the finish line first was "Marina Kastela" with BavAdria base manager Armano Zekan as the skipper. Second was the "Coast Guard" and "Mornar" only came in third. Along with Zekan, the "Marina Kastela" crew consisted of Capt. Pasko Kolombatovic, Pave Brajcic, Ervin Kuzmanic, Mladen Kuzmanic, Damjan Berket and Boris Bakotin.
After the regatta all the crews sat down for fresh fish and a few glasses of wine and enjoyed the music of "Klappa MP 3". Then the awards were given out to the best crews and everyone celebrated another succesful and joyfull BavAdria regatta.

Charity dinner held in Marina Kaštela
A charity dinner on behalf of the "Biskup Josip Lang" Foundation for the project "Meeting of Generations" was held on 9 May 2009 on the premises of Marina Kaštela.
The proceedings from the dinner went to the fund for construction of a nursing home and a kindergarten, which will be built on a piece of land, donated by the Kastela citizen Jela Škarica-Žikov. The land has an area of about 4500 sq. meters and is situated in Kaštel Stari.
We are pleased to announce that more than 350 people contributed to this charity Project, The amount of donations and money collected from the auction of paintings, books, exquisite wine and CDs, adds up to more than 100,000 Croatian Kuna.
The participants in the music program for the night contributed to the charity dinner with their talent and enthusiasm: Male klapa "Boduli" from Postir, Vinko Marojević, tenor, Split; Jadran Barišković, bas, Split; and Sister Lidija. The evening was hosted by Pater Mijo Nikić, President of the BJL foundation.
"I am pleased that the organizer of this dinner invested so much effort and love into putting together this event. It is the first time that we from the foundation are just attending the dinner, because everything else has been taken care of at the highest level. God Bless Mr Berket and his family", stated Pater Mijo Nikić, director of the Foundation.
Some of the sponsors of the dinner include the Winery Krauthaker, Pršut Mataš, and Tangar. The dinner was organized by the Marina Kaštela team. Marina Kaštela partners and an array of well-known companies from Kaštela and Split bought seats at the dinner tables.
"This is the first time that somebody organizes something in Kaštela to help the old and sick", mentioned Josip Berket, organizer of the charity dinner.
Berket expressed a warm thanks to all those who responded to the charity invitation and those who invested their energy into making it come true. He expressed his admirations to Ms Jela Škarica -Žikov.

Eddie Jordan becomes a yacht owner in Marina Kaštela
The famous founder and former owner of Jordan Grand Prix, Eddie Jordan, took over an Elan sailing yacht in the presence of many local and international journalists at an event in Marina Kastela. Jordan plans to take active part in regatta races with his new boat.
The Elan 450 yacht is a masterpiece by designer Rob Humphreys, with special equipment for both racing and personal use.
"I started doing regattas as a boy in the laser class, and I haven't done it for more than 30 years. Last year I started being more active with sailing again, because I miss regattas. I am now ready for the races in France and Sardinia", Jordan said.
Even though Jordan will be sailing away to Greece in a couple of days, he plans to often anchor his yacht, which will sail under a Croatian flag, in Marina Kastela.

TULLN BOAT FAIR
BavAdria successful with it's first stand at the Tulln Boat Fair
BavAdria Yacht Charter was for the first time represented at the Tulln Boat Fair, close to Vienna, with its own stand. Junior Manager Luka Berket, who has energetically taken over the management of BavAdria last year, was heading the BavAdria team at the Boat Fair. Together with Daniel Klaric, from the Kastela office and Stanka Kristl, from the Graz office, the team met many old friends, and established a great amount of new contacts. BavAdria owner, Capt. Josko Berket, also visited the Boat Fair after coming back from a trip from East Asia.
The BavAdria team was delighted to invite the regular customers and many of the interested parties to an Espresso and a glass of Dalmatian wine, together with some Croatian cheese and olive-oil dipped anchovies. This gave a good opportunity for the regulars to exchange stories about past voyages, and for everyone to plan their future adventures.
On March 8th, the "Mirno More" Charity Organization received many visitors at its legendary Fair Party. As an honorary member, Capt. Josko Berket, who is also the owner of the family enterprise Marina Kastela, welcomed all participants in English, but promised to hold his speech in German next year. This promise was received with applause from all sides.
Finally, we would like to thank our valued clients for the positive feedback we have received, especially regarding our excellent service quality and our personal relationship to our clients. This feedback gives us incentives to further develop our services, and the Tulln Boat Fair will be a big part of that in the future.

CHRISTMAS GATHERING OF YOUNG ATHLETES AT MARINA KASTELA
More than 180 young rowers from the rowing club Kastela and the volleyball players of club "Marina Kastela" together with their parents and the management of both clubs attended the Christmas gathering at the charter terminal of Marina Kastela.
The merry attendees also enjoyed some "adevent bakalar", a traditional winter fish dish. The youngsters were happy to have some pizza. This traditional Christmas gathering was a good opportunity to give presents to the best young athletes and to encourage all others.
The following rowers won medals in 2007 and received sports sneakers as a present:

As in past years, the clubs associated with Marina Kastela will attend a winter camp in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) starting on January 6, 2008.
Three scholarships were awarded to the best female volleyball players, who are at the same time excellent students. It is important to note that their monthly scholarships are not exclusively bound to them playing volleyball, but to their academic achievements. The students will continue to receive the scholarships even if they quit volleyball, as long as they continue to excel in their studies.

North Sails Croatia, the sailor's service
The NORTH SAILS ITALIA GROUP - The North Sails Italia Group represents North Sails along the Mediterranean and Adriatic coastlines from the Spanish frontier to Dubrovnik. And it is able to organize service along 3200 Km of coastline.

It is in 2004 that North Sails decides to establish a company to provide full after-sales service to sailors which choose Adriatic sea for their racing or cruising grounds. So in May 2005 a new loft North Sails opened in Dugopolje, near Split. This loft has been planned and developed to give customers the best service before and after sales. The new building has a 500 square meter floor and it is big enough to have in stock all kind of sails, from Optimist to Super Maxi. The loft is situated near the highway exit for Split and it is easy accessible from all parts of Croatia, while closeness to Ferry harbour enables fast and regular connections to islands. Stjepan and Marko Marinovic, famous Croatian sailors, are responsible for sales and service and run the entire loft.
PICK UP AND DELIVER
You don't need to come to the loft anymore: just give us a call and we come directly to your boat, collect the sails, check them and make any required repair. Finally we return the sails to your boat so that you can enjoy sailing in the perfect conditions again, without taking a step.
WINTER STOCKING
At the end of summer, we offer a whole package for maintaining and stocking your sails. We pick up the sails and, when agreed, we check their state, do the maintenance and repair them if necessary. After the service, we stock the sails and deliver them back when you ask for. In this way you can avoid worrying about your sails during winter time.
SERVICE
Sails are our biggest concern even after selling them. That's why we assure you a constant service including maintenance, repair and everything can help the sails to offer the best performance.We also give assistance during races if it's needed.

7. BavAdria Cup
As announced the 7th Bavadria-Cup took place on the November 10th 2007 in the bay of Kastela. On the early morning at 09:30 all participants got briefings about the process of the regatta during a skipper meeting, and after a welcome morning snack (dry figs, local brandy and coffee) all ships sailed out to accomplish last preparations before the start.The race started at 11:00 o'clock. It took place in the bay of Kastela in an area of 10nm, and the participants were sailing on boats of the class Bavaria 46 and 44. There was a constant west wind during the whole regatta, blowing up to 30kts, which meant that the regatta did not take very long to finish. Since the boats were of the same type the race was very close, resulting in tight and exciting turns around the bouys.
Among the Bavaria 46s, the crew of the Coast Guard sat down at 1st place. Due to magnificent maneuvers, where strong gusts of wind were perfectly used, the crew held the first place until the end. The fight for the places 2 - 6 was close throughout, taking place between the crews of YC Labud from Split, the Port Authorities Team (Split, Trogir, Kastela) with the current European IMS champion as skipper, the Croatian Navy, the Marina Kastela Service Base and the members of the Kastela rowing club. After the last turn and 200m forewind the Coast Guard sailed first through the goal line. The 2nd place was taken by YC LABUD, who crossed the line only five meters ahead the crews of BavAdria, The Port Authorities and the Croatian Navy.
In the class Bavaria 44 the crew of the magazine "Otvoreno More" with the experienced skipper Kolombatović - Pavić held their early lead to finish in 1st place. They were followed by Adria Sail - Zenta and AD Plastika - Salona as at 2nd and 3rd place respectivelly.The young race council Višić - Bečić from the sports club "Mornar" Split, fulfilled its job as expected throughout the race.
After running into the home port - Marina Kastela - all participants were invited on a common celebration organized by the Kastela Sailing Club, BavAdria and Marina Kastela.
Capt. Berket, the owner of BavAdria Yachting, the Marina Kastela and sponsor of the Sailing and Rowing clubs, welcomed all participants cordially, and wished all a pleasant stay and a good apetite. Then the trophies and the winning bell were awarded.
Hereby the organizer would like to thank all participants for a respecting the operational sequence of the race and for following all regulations. We are happy that despite strong winds, no damage was inflicted on the boats. This is one reason more to welcome all participants, specially the new ones, to next year's BavAdria cup.

"Mirno more" and the "Croatia Boat Show" nautical fair
Bavadria and Marina Kastela were partners of this years Croatia Boat Show in Split. Thanks to a very good relationship to Mirno More, both companies have helped to enrich this fair with humanitarian contents.Capt. Berket, the owner of Bavadria and the Marina Kastela and honourable member of Mirno More, made an effort to establish a co-operation between Mirno More and the Croatia Boat show. The culmination of the nautical fair was a promotion race organized by Darko Šupuk. Children - all members of the diabetic association, were sailing on RC44 racing boats of cro-a-sail. The children had the opportunity to learn sailing skills during this race from the world famous Russell Coutts.
An unforgettable experience for all involved.

Waterfront dispansion II.
Waterfront on the north side of the marina has been extended in order to prevent boats during the north-east wind (BURA). Some of the boats will be relocated from piers to the new waterfront to increase the distance between the boats on the piers.
New area will be organized as promenade to enable better throughtput during tourist relay on weekend days.
